AN UNHOLY PILOT
An Unholy Pilot

The less-than-saintly short film, For Your Sins, is being transformed into a pilot for a TV series on the back of some success on the local and international film festival circuit.

Chosen to air on opening night at the St Kilda International Film Festival, co-writers Jack White and Terry Mann, along with writer-collaborator and director Jules Lucas, felt that the film had legs after strong support from the audiences around the world.

“The film felt like a scene from something larger. There were so many elements at play other than what happened in the room. Plus the fact that the whole premise was about the main character Jay proposing to crucify himself. We thought wouldn’t it be great if we explored the whole campaign of his death. Using that meeting as the springboard for the ad campaign that leads to his crucifixion.” – Jules Lucas

The challenge for the writing team now is to delve deeper into the motivations of the characters and the greater world around them, creating a more intricate and interesting story that fills in the inevitable gaps left by a short-form production.

The pilot is now being workshopped between the team, with input from Ryan Shelton and Dave Lawson. Production to follow…
