WILL HYDE | MEANT TO BE

As is often the case in the creative biz; fresh talent calls for fresh perspectives. And this is exactly the lens we applied when translating the new tune of up-and-coming Aussie artist, Will Hyde, into a three-dimensional world. Born from our Director, Jarred Osborn’s, own imagination, the ‘Meant To Be’ video clip embodies Will’s lyrical monologue between the four walls of Richmond’s Lalor House.

The grand and ominous Melbourne setting became the symbolic backdrop to a thought-provoking performance piece, one that expressed the subliminal uncertainty in Will’s lyrics. Our aim was to translate this inner torment into a dynamic and ethereal ‘trip’ of sorts that took the viewer on a performative exploration of the mansion’s shadowy nooks. Something made possible by Jarred’s conceptual skills and DoP Joey Knox’s way with 16mm film.

TRIP

The combination of a tight team, haunting location, top-shelf tune and our unwavering logistical superpowers culminated in a stunning aesthetic that perfectly captured Will’s artistry. True creative freedom can quite often be a unicorn in this biz, so we’re proud to be delivering a clip that not only represents our vision — from idea to execution — but also puts talents of an emerging local artist in lush motion.
