SOUL OF CHAPEL

How do you reawaken an illustrious precinct like Chapel Street—Melbourne’s vibrant cultural epicentre—after months of forced dormancy? You return to the very people and places that first brought the area to life. And that’s exactly what we did with our recent ‘Soul of Chapel’ campaign for Chapel Street Precinct Association. We paid homage to the intrinsic yet palpable heartbeat that reverberates throughout the area, and identified the very people that keep it pumping—the original custodians of local commerce and culture.

CUSTODIANS
OF
CULTURE

The trick was extracting each of the unique cultures and experiences from the area’s rich melting pot and presenting them to the broader community. The people that give our area its flavour are still there. The secret ingredient to our recipe, however, was finding the right people with the right stories. Via an in-depth casting process, the history—and future—of Chapel Street came to life.

These stories, combined with cinematography with an ode to medium format photography, became an emotive time capsule that reminded audiences of the place they love sensitive – beautifully crafted. The result is a testament to our Director, Jarrod Osborn’s, conceptual finesse, and our team’s fresh executional approach. Something we always pull off, even in the face of unprecedented constraints.
