JUNGLE GIANTS | SENDING ME UR LOVING
MUSIC VIDEO

Early 2020 saw the birth of a love child between Director, Julian Lucas, and Director of Photography, Joey Knox. In the form of The Jungle Giant’s most recent music video, ‘Sending Me Ur Loving’, we witnessed a collision of respective styles that together delivered a clip that truly hit the sweet spot — an unprecedented amalgamation of comedy and restrained cinematography.

The result was a nuanced and unorthodox take on dysfunctional relationships. Grounded in the concept of rehabilitation, ‘Sending Me Ur Loving’ was brought to life in a grand manor where The Jungle Giants ‘treated’ loved ones as if their animosity was a run-of-the-mill addiction or affliction.

The sentiment was not only achieved through clever ideation and excellent casting, but also a tactical approach to filming. Long zooms became a metaphor for fluctuating distance in relationships, framed in intimacy by a 4:3 screen ratio.

This project was a true testament to a creative meeting of the minds. Julian and the band’s mutual understanding and respect spurred a video that the whole team are not only proud of producing, but truly enjoyed creating alongside a supreme suite of actors and crew who gave life to our quirky concept.
