THE JUNGLE GIANTS | IN HER EYES

Where branded content allows us to weave purposeful and powerful plots, music videos give us an outlet to get a little crazy. Our recent clip for The Jungle Giants’ latest hit, ‘In Her Eyes’, taps into a new breed of ‘wild’. One that subverts the traditional romance narrative in favour of a more unconventional (and one-dimensional) love story.

A LOVE
STORY

Conceived by Director Julian Lucas, the idea is anchored on a smitten narcissist who more or less finds love in the arms of himself. But rather than baring a message of perilous self-obsession, the video itself marinates in the concept of self-love, and the absurdity of a real-life application. The idea of presenting an unsettling balance of the outrageous and the everyday was motivated by the thought that the further we pushed the envelope creatively, the more we’d tickle our audience’s fancy.

LIVING OUR
VFX LIFE

Undaunted by the ambitious creative, and emboldened by clever VFX, we embraced a filming process that saw us capture each one-dimensional scene from two perspectives then later superimposing Sam’s face on his female counterpart. With the aim of delivering a love story that was absurd but ultimately believable, the calibre of the clip rested heavily on the execution of the face swapping. Fortunately, the final product was a spectacularly debaucherous tale of self-love wrapped in the tunes and lyrics spun by The Jungle Giants.
