Tofu Digital needed to create video content for Victorian Racing Carnival’s biggest campaign of the year. As well as capturing the fun, colour and energy that fashionable Melbourne racegoers expect, we also needed to give them something a little more unexpected.

The rest of the campaign was already in full swing so we decided to make the most of it. We put a crew together so we could work alongside a photography shoot, which meant we could spend all of our time focussing on what was going on in front of the lens instead of behind it. We discovered that when you’ve got a solid plan in place, creating high-end content without a dedicated film shoot is a possibility.
ON A SIDE NOTE
We think the key to getting this campaign right was research – we spent a lot of time with Tofu refining the approach and the best way to create engaging content in the small amount of time we had. Trying to shoot film and photography at the same time has its challenges, but when you get it right the result is a powerful campaign that works harmoniously.
